Just popping in for a few minutes to make a few small announcements.
New Project Rates
As of June 1st, I have increased my rates for projects, as well as my hourly rate. New websites now start at $2,500+, and my standard hourly rate is $65/hour with a one-hour minimum.
Why?
I strive to be open and transparent about pricing and my work. But I discovered that I was doing all the things and it was taking a toll. Not only was my mental health in steady decline – 2018 was rough – but my work was suffering, too. I wasn’t delivering or doing my best.
I was so frustrated with work and myself I debated throwing in the towel for good.
So I decided I needed to make some changes. First, I cut ties with several agencies I was working with, or severely limited my availability for their projects, so I was more in control of my work. Second, I realized that I needed to be pickier with the projects I take on and do less at a time, so I can do my best possible work. And the only way to balance that out was to increase my rates.
The increased rates will let me take on fewer projects and give each project I take on my full attention. Instead of scrambling to do everything, I can take a step back and focus on on task at a time, delivering the best possible product for my clients.
Speaking of projects…
It’s Pride Month!
The LGBTQIA+ community is so incredibly important to me. In addition to having queer family members, I myself fall roughly at 2.5 on the Kinsey scale.
I wanted to do something meaningful this Pride season, so I’ve decided to donate 10% of all new website projects booked this month to The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis resources to LGBTQIA+ youth.
