This was a fun project because I had, more or less, total creative control. I had a logo, some colors, a handful of photos, and some pretty brief instructions – the site had to be easy to update and “masculine”, but the rest was completely up to me.
After looking at their logo, it was clear to me that I wanted to incorporate it into the design. To that end, I built out custom blocks to let the client crop images into a logo shape – perfect for headers. I went sparingly on color, to use it as an accent and make things “pop” while not overpowering the simplicity of the design. Bold typography and sharp lines help keep the website looking strong and professional, while big photos let them show off their projects to prospective investors. It’s a simple, but clean and powerful design that checks all of the boxes the client was after.
